What is a peptic ulcer?
Peptic ulcer is one of the most common diseases. And it is a benign acute or chronic ulceration, commonly known as gastric ulcer. A particular facet of ulcer disease is the predilection for individuals from regions with a high standard of living in contrast to their absence or rarity among individuals in underdeveloped regions.
What causes it?
From the anatomical standpoint, peptic ulcer disease is characterized by a loss of substance, always located in mucous membranes that are in direct contact with gastric secretions (mucous always clorhidropéptica). This ulceration reaches the muscular layer and may even perforate all layers of the stomach.
